Got rhythm? Always singing in the shower? Humming at your desk?
Maybe OFFICE CHOIR is for you!!
Does your business or institution need something to motivate people and bring them together as a team in a fun, rewarding way? Office Choir may be for you!
Jo will come to your workplace one evening a week and teach a tailor-made OFFICE CHOIR for you, leading up to a concert.
The choir can be jazz or classical, though she recommends jazz as a more upbeat way to spend the end of the day, and there should be at least 8 people in a choir to make it work. All-female choirs are possible, but obviously you would need to let Jo know in advance. She also has considerable experience with Christmas choirs, teaching both traditional SATB carols and close-harmony arrangements of songs such as 'Jingle Bell Rock' and 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'.
The cost of the choir is £8 per person per week, and Jo recommends at least a 6 week period, but you can always have the first session and see how you feel.
Jo has considerable experience coaching and conducting choirs, including for Save the Children, Guy's Hospital and the BBC.
As a trained actor/singer and vocal coach, she is great at motivating people and persuading people who may not have a huge amount of singing experience that they really can sing in beautiful four part harmony!
Mixed ability works well in a choir, and Jo makes sure she can challenge the more musical members whilst helping the less confident as much as possible. She also gives tips on vocal technique along the way.
Please contact Jo on joannalucie@hotmail.co.uk if you are interested, and pass on this information to anyone else who might be. Lunchtime choir is also a possibility, but evenings tend to be more popular.
No need to confine that singing to the shower!!
"I would highly recommend working with Jo, she is a very competent and enthusiatic choir director and I thoroughly enjoyed singing in her choir." Nicola Coates, Genetic Counsellor, Guy's Hospital Choir
"Joanna managed to get a room full of busy
people who didn't know each other singing close harmony jazz within an
hour, and performing a concert after four or five sessions. She made it
easy and was an excellent musical leader. I sing regularly in a number
of choirs and was very impressed with the results she achieved despite
the many obstacles of working in a hospital including one session which
was accompanied by a fire alarm." Chris Brasted, Improvement Lead, Cancer Programme, Guy's Hospital Choir
